Goose Creek Quilt Top

I just finished sewing all the strips together. Whew. I was half way done. Once I started the second half it went by in a breeze. I am so excited about this top. I love antique looking quilts. And now I am in love with the scrappy look. It isn’t 100% scrappy. I couldn’t possible bring myself to by hundreds of different civil war fabrics. It is just too expensive. So I did my best trying to keep like patterns away from each other. There is only one problem. I love it so much I don’t want to give it up. BOO HOO. Maybe someday I can make myself one. It looks mighty nice on my bed though. LOL.

Oh, the Goose Creek Quilt top looks wonderful! And you’re right, it really has that antique look to it - late 19th century. I can definitely see you wanting to make one for yourself! I’m sure the receiver will love it!

Love, love, love the quilt top. You’ve been busy! I can’t find your email to leave my address for the fat quarter I won.

That’s really nice! I love all the fabrics…I think it’s VERY scrappy girl!!! :) I know what you mean about civil war repro’s…I generally buy fq’s & 1/2 yard cuts of my favorite prints, and then buy nice fabric at JoAnn’s with my coupon for backs and borders. You could collect charms for a while? To build up a stash of repro’s just a little at a time. Jellyrolls are nice too because you get a lot of variety all at once. :)
