Half Way Done

I am half way done with the goose creek quilt top. I sewed the bottom four rows together today. It looks great. I am jealous that I didn’t make this for myself. LOL. Hopefully tomorrow I can get the other 4 rows sewn together. I still have to go through my stash to see what fabric I want to use for the border. I am going to put a small border all the way around. Nothing to wild. I want the top to stand out more than the border.

Last night I sewed together some bow tie blocks. I had some in drawer from swaps. I ended up with 10 12 inch blocks. Today I got out some scrappy blocks from a swap and ironed them. I counted 38 10 inch blocks. I think I will make some more and make a top for my bed. I think I am learning to love scrappy quilts as much as the antique patterns.

Today I also sewed up the February 2008 BOM. The pattern is the Austin Star from Quilter’s Cache.

The four corners are a light blue civil war print. They are a little darker in person.

Off to make supper. 1 1/2 days left to post and enter your name in the drawing for the Blueberry Fat Quarter. Good Luck everyone. God Bless.

You are so talented. I like the blues on blue and grey.
But then, that was the Civil War. A lot of history in those colors.
