Mystery Tote Bag

Tina over at Rocky Mountain Quiltworks has instructions to make a mystery tote bag on her site. She has provided steps one and two so far. I am going to try it. I use tote bags for groceries and church. She also has a o pattern for a quilt and table runner. I will post pictures of my progress.

Here is a picture of my blocks so far for the tote bag.

Fat Quarter Friday for 8/29/08- Teal Floral Fabric

Here is this weeks fat quarter. Please leave me a comment this week between today and Thursday evening at 11:59pm central time. Good luck.

Here is a picture of Andrew trying to roll over. He hasn’t made it yet but he is close. I took him to the doctor yesterday. He has an ear infection and some chest congestion. They gave him some meds and gave him a breathing treatment at the office.

Here is a picture I took this morning. I can’t believe he is already four months old.

Scrappy Candle Mats

Today I finished making 7 candle mats. I had some scrappy blocks left over from my wall hanging. The candle mats are about 9 inches square.

I have been meaning to take a picture of this fabulous pillow my mother in-law Judy made for me. She makes gorgeous quilts too.

I have an appointment to take Andrew to the doctor in an hour. Poor little guy still has a cough. He was supposed to get his four month shots tomorrow but I don’t think they will still give them to him. We will see. I am very anxious to see how much he weighs. I am guessing close to 20 pounds already.

Today is the last day to comment on the Batik fat quarter that I am giving away tomorrow. Good luck and happy blogging.

189th Post

Only 11 more post to go before my 200th post. Yippee. I am going to have a give away. I think I am going to pick more than one winner. I have a few ideas in mind.

Have any of you swaps heard of www.swap-bot.com? It is a pretty neat place. You can join 5 swaps at one time. So far I have been in a 5 inch charm swap, a book mark swap, and a nine patch swap. I have received my goodies. I started two swaps. A fabric postcard swap and a 2 1/2 inch fabric strip swap. Some of the swaps are international. It is a good way to make new friends. Just thought I would share this with all my sewing friends. It’s not just for fabric. Go have a look and see.

Scrappy Wall Hanging

I finished making this scrappy wall hanging today. I have a bunch of 5 inch charms. So I used them for this. The border material is some civil war reproduction fabric that I love. It measures about 42 inches square.

Here is a picture of the fabric postcards I have received so far. They are hanging in my sewing room.

Killen’s Founders Day 5K Run

This morning my oldest son Tyler and my husband ran in a 5k run. They did an awesome job. Tim finished in 31 minutes and Tyler finished right behind him at 31:08. I am so proud of them. This is the 3rd time my husband has run it and the second time Tyler has. Tyler finished 15 minutes faster than last time. Way to go.

Handmade Baby Doll

Here is the 2nd baby doll that I made. This time I made a round face. I think I like the heart shaped face better. The material is civil war reproduction. It is scraps from a quilt I made.

Here is what my book shelf looks like with 2 dolls I made and a postcard from a friend in Australia.
