Today I made 5 artist trading cards. It was a lot of fun. I am in 2 swaps next month. One is a Valentine theme and the other is a book theme. On the Valentine ones I painted the background with watercolors. Then embellished them.
I also painted this picture today using my watercolors. I used a black pen to highlight the outlines. I put it in the frame and now it is the hall bathroom.
Today is my husband’s 35th birthday. He is on a plane home from New York City. He went to a conference and his flight for last night got cancelled. he should be home this afternoon. The kids and I made him some birthday cards. He likes hand made cards much better than store bought. It is always fun to sit down with the kids and be creative. We made quit a mess of it.
Yesterday the boys were home sick. Tyler went back to school today. Joahus is still home sick. Andrew has a little bit of a cough. Hopefully it won’t get worse than that. He is getting so big and fast. He still isn’t crawling. He rolls everywhere. He does push ups too. It is so cute.
Yeah I am now down to 37 UFO’s. That is great news. This is the first quilty item that I have tried free motion quilting on. I have been so nervous. I read a few blogs today about other people biting the bullet so I decided to also. It turned out pretty good for my first time. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. It was only a table runner though. LOL. It took a little getting used to. There are a few sharp spots and one loop. Oops. The back turned out good too. The tension was pretty good. Yeah. I am so excited. Maybe I will try a baby quilt next.

I found this tutorial on Cafe Mom this morning. I thought I would share it. The skirts are too cute.
I don’t have anything new and exciting to write about. Tim made it home safe from Texas. He was in Houston Friday and Saturday for an expo for work. Tuesday he is going to New York City for a conference for work. Thursday is his 35th birthday. Here are a couple pictures from the past.

In the fast paced world that we live in we sometimes forget to stop and remember what we are thankful for. What are you thankful for today?
I am thankful for:
1. Jesus, who died for our sins.
2. My husband who has truely shown me unconditional love.
3. God for giving us second chances.
4. My 3 handsome, rambunkious boys. Who fill my heart with love and joy everyday. Without them life would be dull.
I hope everyone is having a great Saturday morning. We had a slumber party of sorts last night. Tyler had a friend come spend the night. And my niece Emily came to spend the night with Joshua. I have 5 bouncing children in front of the TV playing guitar hero. Over all they have been pretty good. My hubby is in Texas for a business meeting. It has been fun. The older boys went to a movie last night with some girls. Oh to be a teenager again.LOL. Josh and Emily watched Kung Fu Panda while the boys were at the movies. They had fun.
No sewing for me this week. I just haven’t had the time. I was going to sew yesterday when I had some free time but I went to the grocery store instead. It isn’t often that I can go grocery shopping without at least one child in tow. It was nice to not have to rush.

I made these blocks for a swap on swap bot. Two are for the swap and two are to keep.
These are for some fabric postcards. I used Bonnie’s crumb idea. It turned out very cute. I will definitely be doing this again.
Unfortunately I have nothing new to show. It has been cold. It is hard being cooped up in the house and not sewing. Thursday my sister in-law watched Andrew and I was able to get a lot of cleaning done. You know the things that just don’t get done as much with a 9 month old at your side. It felt great getting stuff done. Of course over the weekend the house has become a mess again. My husband, Tim and oldest son cleaned up the garage. I thought they were crazy. It was like 30 degrees in there. But the bundled up and accomplished a lot in a few hours. It looks great. Now I have a mountain of laundry to tackle. Oh what fun. All I really want to do is sew. Thanks to Tim I was able to make a baby changing pad for a friends little girl. She has a changing table for her dolls. I didn’t take a picture though. Sometimes I just forget. I did manage to start some Friendship Star Variation blocks for a swap I am hosting on Swap Bot. I need to finish mom’s quilt but I still haven’t been able to go purchase the batting and backing. Mom I promise I haven’t forgotten. Have a great Monday.
