Woodland Pincushion

I received, in my opinion, the cutest pincushion ever in the mail yesterday. Every time I look at it I get a huge silly grin. I need get a littel bird or squirrel button to go with it. The log house is the pincushion and so are the polka dotted mushrooms. A lot of effort and time went into this. Thank you so much Connie. I hope you are reading this. It is just fantastic.

Work In Progress – Cowboy Quilt

I started a baby blanket for my cousin’s son two years ago. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to finish it. It is one of those projects that I have felt some guilt over not finishing. Terrance isn’t a baby anymore so I had to add to the original blanket to make it bigger. I had to think about what I wanted to do to it for a few days. I don’t have anymore of the cowboy material so I wasn’t sure what exactly I was going to do. I just know that I didn’t want to scrap it and start over. Here is it before adding to it.

After some much needed sewing, yesterday it was turned into this.

I think to finish it off I am going to add some 4 patches to the top and bottom and then a dark blue border.

Posty Pals Fabric Postcards

If you follow my blog on a regular basis then you know that a group of women and I make fabric postcards and swap them with each other each month. Brenda decided that we needed a name. So we all gave suggestions and then Posty Pals was decided upon. After much thought I decided to start a site in honor of our group and where people can come to learn about making fabric postcards. If you would like to, head over there and let me know what you think, please leave me a comment. If you come across anything that might be cool for me to post about on this site please let me know.

Hot Pads and Apple Eating

I made two hot pads to go along with the pot holders for my sister in-law. They measure about 9 1/2 inches sqaures. I used 5 inch charms for the patchwork. These were super easy to make.

While Andrew was eating lunch today I got an apple and sat there with him. As soon as he saw me bite into it he wanted it. Tim let him eat off of his apple the other night. So he knows what you are supposed to do with it. So I gave it to him just to see what he would do. He actually got a few bites off of it. He had a lot of fun with it. I did too.

Here is a picture I took yesterday while he was playing with his activity table. I can hardly ever get one with his eyes open. The flash makes him blink.

Andrew 10 Months

I have taken some pictures of Andrew lately that are just too cute. So I thought I would share. Sunday we were watching the race and Andrew pulled himself up to the TV and was trying to catch Jeff Gordon and Kurt Bush. It was so cute.

Pot Holders

I made these round pot holders today. I saw them on someone elses site and have been wanting to make them. These are a gift for someone. She likes purple. Now I need to make some for myself. They were so easy to make. I used a 8 1/2 inch ceramic bowl as my template.

Sick Baby

Andrew isn’t feeling well. He has a fever off and on starting yesterday. He has a lose cough and is very cranky. Not to mention that he has two mollars coming in at the same time. I am getting ready to call the doctor.

If you would like a chance to win the picncushion:

Reading List for 2009

I got this idea from my sister in-law Mary. We were talking about the books we have read so far this year. I don’t usually keep track. So I thought sense it is still early in the year that I would try to keep track just to see how many I read.

1. Forever- Jude Deveraux

2. Forever and Always- Jude Deveraux

3. Always – Jude Deveraux

4. Grace – Richard Paul Evans

5. The Choice – Nicholas Sparks

6. I Heard that Song Before – Mary Higgins Clark

7. The Edge of Winter – Luanne Rice

8. No choice But Seduction – Johanna Lindsey

I am reading three books right now. Holly- Jude Deveraux, The total Money Makeover – Dave Ramsey, and All over but the Shoutin – Rick Bragg.

What are you reading? Do you have any suggestions for future books?
