Cowgirl Skirt

I bought this fabric at Hancock a little over a week ago on sale. I thought it would make an adorable little girls skirt. It was only $2.95 a yard. I got 3/4 of a yard.  I made this today for my neice Emily. She is 5 years old.

Once I had already started I thought. “I should make a tutorial.” LOL. Maybe with the next one. It was so easy.

Jean Purse WIP

I cut up an old pair of jeans today. The legs will be cut up for a quilt. I decided to use the top part to make a purse. I have seen these all over and wanted one.  So today was the day to make my own.

I still have to make the handles. I am going to make a belt to go in the belt loops. The flowers are sewn on. I used my machine. I am going to glue a pretty button or something in the middle of the flower. This picture was taken with out the flash.dsc06325

Joshua & Andrew

Here are a few pictures I took of the two younger boys over the last few days. Now that Tyler is a “teenager” he doesn’t care to be in the pictures.

Scrappy Tennessee Block & Book Reading

Here is 4 Tennessee blocks sewn together. I am making these for a swap. These 4 are in a quilt I put together. I will show the quilt at a later date. I am going to love making a bed sized scrappy quilt in these blocks.

Embroidered Quilt Block

Well here it is. My first quilt block that is all embroidered. Not to bad for an amateur. It is all free hand and my own design. Mary taught me how to do french knots so I went a little crazy. This block is in a quilt I am making. I will show pictures of that once it is finished and the recipient gets it. Don’t want to spoil the suprise.

351 Post

Wow it is hard to believe that I have that many posts. getting closer to 400 everyday.

Tim left today for Annual Training. he will be gone for 2 weeks. How will we make it without him? I will have pulled out all of my hair by then.

Josh has a fever virus. I took him to the doctor yesterday. No swine flu, thank God. Tyler saw the doctor too. he didn’t like what he heard in his shoulder so he has to go to the bone and joint clinic on Monday. Woe is me.

I am hoping to get some sewing done. I have so many projects to work on and never enough time.

I wanted to share one of my favorite places to buy fabric. Marshall Dry Goods. they have awesome prints for between $2.99 – $3.99 a yard. They have civil wars, Thimbleberries, some 30’s, calicos and blenders.
