On My Quilting Buddies forum I joined a Halloween wall hanging/ table mat swap. My partner wanted a table mat. Here is what I came up with. I hope she likes it.

Baby Jacob’s Quilt
I made a baby quilt for my online friend Melzie. She is having her 4th boy. God Bless her. Three is plenty for me. I mailed it to her Monday. She let me know she received it and everyone loves it. I haven’t posted a picture yet because I wanted her to see it in person first. They always look nicer in person.
Here is the back. I used a Noah’s Ark fabric. I have like 4 yards of it. I found it at a thrift store for really cheap a few years back. I love using it on the back of baby quilts.
Happy Scrappy Table Runner
This morning I finished sewing three blocks together from a swap. I made extra for myself with the intention of making a quilt. I decided this morning that I have too many UFO’s to add another one to the pile. I sewed the blocks together and made a table runner out of them. I used a Juki TL-98Q to quilt the table runner. It was so awesome. So much easier to quilt with than my regular machine. I borrowed Crazy Mom’s idea of circular quilting for this table runner. It looks so neat on quilts. This was a lot of fun. I made and finished this project in a few hours. Yeah me. I was in major need of some sewing time. I was going through with drawls. LOL. If you sew you understand.
Here is the fabric I used for the back. I have about 3 yards of this fabric. It must have been on sale.

Nature’s Best Quilt Contest
I entered this quilt in the Nature’s Best Quilt Contest on Quilting Gallery. I made this quilt, which is now named Frogman’s Adventures, a few years ago for my cousin Jeffrey. He was only two at the time. His dad is in the Navy. I came across the frog fabric and knew it would be perfect for his quilt. I made the pattern for the sail boats. The are fused on using Wonder Under. I zig-zagged the edges with rainbow variegated thread. The waves are blue ric-rac.

You can vote on the quilts from September 26th through October 4th. So vote for me. You can only vote once.
Quilting Gallery’s Summertime Mini Quilt Swap
Here is my mini quilt for the Summertime Mini Quilt Swap. My friend Laura showed me a pattern on how to do a stained glass quilt. So I made up my own design. It turned out ok. So imagine you are looking out a stained glass window. This is what you see. LOL.
This is with a flash. The blue batik is a little darker.
No flash here. Here are some close ups of the free motion quilting. And please remember I am new to free motion so be kind.
I tried to make it look like abstract waves. I used black and blue thread.
Don’t forget to leave me a comment for the 400th give away HERE.
Kaleidoscope Quilt

I’m not sure if I have ever blogged on Fabricmom about the kaleidoscope quilt that I made a few years back for my great grandmother. Tim got me the kaleidoscope ruler for Christmas one year. Can’t remember which year. The ruler is great. It made cutting the material so easy. At the time my sewing skills weren’t quite up to par. If you look closely at the bottom right hand corner of the quilt you can see where the blocks don’t match up. It is a queen sized quilt. I was too tired to take it apart to try to fix it and didn’t really know how back then. I was sure gramma would still be happy with it. Needless to say I haven’t used the ruler again sense. I think I will have to get it out and make a mini quilt with it. Here is a picture of the lap quilt that I made for her with the left over material.

Lily of the Valley Quilted Wall Hanging
I recently showed you a peek of a project I was working on. Well after three long years it is finished. My oldest UFO is complete. It feels great. One more project to cross off the list. I like it. Now that it is finished I have decided that I should of done the sashing in the red instead of the binding. The lily material washes out the pieced blocks. Isn’t that always the way. Once your done you nit pick your own work. I am to critical on myself. So here it is:
New Quilting Group – My Quilting Buddies
A dear friend of mine Tina, has started a new online quilting group. It is called My Quilting Buddies. If you like to swap or chat with other quilters around the world you might want to check it out. I am hosting a few swaps.
There are no sew swaps: 4 1/2 inch charms, fat quarters, fat 8ths, strip swap, and a layer cake swap.
The sew swaps are: a themed 6 1/2 inch nine patch swap, Scrappy Tennessee block, I’ve been framed block, Box quilt block, Stash buster block, and a wall hanging or table mat swap.
There are 3 different blocks of the month to choose from. There is also a barter board where you can post items you no longer want and list what you want for it. Very cool. I have traded blocks that I made but never made into a quilt and fabric I no longer wanted. We all have that moment when going through out stuff and think, “Why did I buy this?” Usually for me it was because it was on sale. LOL.There is also a list of great free patterns and tutorials.
I am hosting the scrappy strip swap, 4 1/2inch charm swap, and the 6 1/2 inch nine patch swap.
So please come by and say Hi and maybe join a swap. Hope to see you there.

Spring Blooms Mini Quilt Challenge

Here is my finished mini quilt. I really hope my partner likes it. I mailed it Tuesday. It measure around 16 x 20. I used my rotary cutter to make the stems. So none of them are the same. that was fun. The grass I cut free hand with scissors. The only thing I used a template for was the flower. I think the background fabric is my favorite part. I wanted something with some movement in it. Not just a blender or a solid. Then I pulled colors out of it for the flowers.
