Novella Free Quilt Pattern by Valori Wells

I was searching for free quilt patterns and came across this cute pattern. It looks pretty easy so I thought I would share it with you. I know how hard it is to find cute easy quilt patterns that are free. It is a PDF so you will have to have acrobat reader to open it.

Santa Rosa Quilt Guild BOM for July

Joyce Wood, a Co Chairperson for the Santa Rosa Quilt Guild in California contacted me a while back about using the True Blue quilt block pattern I designed for their July (BOM) block of the month. She is going to send me a picture of the winner with all of the blocks they won.

Needless to say I was flabbergasted and still am. It is an honor to be contacted by others who want to make quilts from the patterns I design. It is gratifying to know that other people read my blog and like the patterns. Hopefully soon I will have time to work on more free patterns.

Traci’s Version of the Easy Black and White Quilt

Not too long ago I received an email from a lady wishing to know how much fabric she needed to buy to make the Easy Black and White Quilt Pattern that I have for free on Fabric Mom. (Apparently I forgot to put this in the instructions.) So sorry friends. I asked her to share a picture of the finished quilt with me when she was finished. I got another email the other day with the finished quilt. It is beautiful. I asked her if I could share her quilt story with the photo on Fabric Mom. I was delighted when she said yes. Here is Traci’s Quilt and her story:

“I just started sewing/quilting in March of 2011. I started making my quilt in the class I was taking but got the flu so was unable to finish. I got frustrated on my own so took a break. Then I found your pattern for the black and white quilt, and decided to make that for a wedding gift for my sister in law. So I used red and gold, their colors, and finished my first quilt! I love it and am so happy that I could do that for her and her new husband. It took me about two weeks, would’ve been one week but I have a two year old son! Plus a husband who is going to college part time and working full time. Everyone at the wedding reception signed it and it looks beautiful!”
Thanks much,
Traci

Traci, I love it! You did a wonderful job. I see many more beautiful quilts in your future.

Star Wall Hanging

It has been a while sense I have been able to sit and work on a pattern to share with my fellow quilter’s. I designed this a few months ago. I finally finished the DOWNLOADABLE PDF. The finished wall hanging measures 30 x 30 inches.  I hope you enjoy it. I look forward to actually finding the time to make it for myself. (This is my 501 post too). Wow!

Here is one in Christmas prints.

Crossed Paths Quilt

Last year in September I posted my first free pattern that I designed using EQ5. I have sense named it Crossed Paths. I received an email a few months ago from a nice lady named Elizabeth. She was interested in making this quilt, however the pattern was for a baby quilt. She wasn’t quite sure how many blocks she would need for a queen sized quilt. She asked if I would help her figure it out. Of course I said yes. I also told her that when she was finished I would love to see a picture of her quilt. I got an email yesterday with a picture. She has kindly  given me permission to post a picture of her quilt on Fabric Mom. So here it is:

Isn’t it just beautiful? I love the colors and material she used. The heart fabric is just to die for. It really brings movement to the paths. I am so excited to be able to share this with all of you. Here is a link to the pattern and a picture of the baby quilt I made using the pattern.

My Quilting Buddies Mystery Quilt Final Clue

Here is the final step for the mystery quilt that I designed and hosted on My Quilting Buddies. It was a lot of fun. If you make one please email me with a picture. I would love to see it.

The flash washed out the color in this picture. I will take a better picture later and share it. In this picture you can’t tell that there are pinks in the quilt.
